How StudyRoyale works

Up to 25 players start in one arena. Hit an opponent with your plunger and a quiz duel begins. The zone closes in until only one player is left. A round takes about 4 minutes.

1. The arena

The arena is a square courtyard of stone walls, 92 metres across, and you see it from above. Walls and rocks give cover, and there are crates in the middle and in the four corners. On a computer you walk with the keyboard and aim with the mouse; on a tablet or phone you use two sticks.

2. A hit starts the duel

Everyone carries a plunger gun. Hit an opponent with it and it pulls you over to them, and the duel begins. There's no other way: standing close isn't enough to fight. You also open crates with a hit and a right answer.

3. Three questions, knowledge decides

A duel has three questions with four answers each. Both players see the same question while the clock runs. Here's what each answer does:

Damage in a duel
If …then
You're right, your opponent is wrongYour hit: 50 damage
You're right and fast (within the first 40 % of the time)Critical hit: 65 damage
Both rightThe faster answer hits, 10 to 45 damage depending on the gap
Both wrongBoth lose 25 health

Every player has 100 health. Updated: October 2026.

4. Crates, Brainwaves and jokers

Crates hold Brainwaves and jokers. A Brainwave makes your hits stronger. In a duel you tap a joker beside the question, one per question: Bullseye counts double, Dodge keeps that question from hurting you, 50:50 takes away two wrong answers, +5 seconds gives you more time and Spy shows you what your opponent taps. Which joker your opponent played, you only see when the question is resolved. Whatever drops out of a crate hops over to you as soon as you're close enough.

5. The zone

An energy wall moves in from the outside in six stages until nothing is left. Anyone outside loses health, faster and faster. Players in a duel are spared.

6. Win and play on

The last one standing takes the crown, and the best players stand on the podium. Players who are out watch until the end. Then the lobby plays the next round together, with the same questions or new ones.

Rounds with general knowledge earn coins and experience. Your own quizzes earn no coins, because their answers could be looked up.
